The proposed investments totalling Rs 4,895.65 crore as of August 20, 2026 are in the sectors, such as information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), information and communication (I&C), manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, data centres and transport services.”
Citing information received from the GoI’s Ministry of Commerce, media reports have added that, “The FDI proposals are from investors in jurisdictions, including Mauritius, the US, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands.”
Reportedly, “As a part of strengthening the ease of doing business in India, the revised norms of the Government of India has removed the need for prior government approval for wooing foreign investments in cases involving a stake of up to 10% from investors in countries that share a land-border with India. However, the investments are subject to applicable sectoral caps, entry routes and other conditions.”
