Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 6: Iran has reportedly claimed that an agreement has been reached with Oman on the geographic route for new shipping lanes in the critical chokepoint Strait of Hormuz.
International media reports, quoting Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, said that, “A joint statement by Iran and Oman is in the final drafting stage and would be issued provided there is no interference from third parties.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson also reportedly stated that, “Talks between Iran and Oman have been professional and are moving forward.”
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump during his California visit warned Iran reportedly bursting that, “The Srait of Hormuz is going to be open very soon, or they’re going to get hit very hard, and then the Strait is going to be open. Tehran had been given a final chance to reach a deal. If they back out again, they’re going to get hit really hard. They know that, they understand that. They have no choice. They can’t have a nuclear weapon. It’s very simple.”
International media reports, quoting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s reactions, have also stated that, “Progress has been made in talks with Iran, and an outcome is expected very shortly. There’s a conversation and a negotiation that we’re involved in between Oman and Iran on how more ships can be able to go through there safely in the short term.”
