Industry Odisha Bureau, July 18:
Google has introduced two major AI features for Google Vids, its video creation platform. The update brings Gemini Omni, a new AI powered video generation and editing tool. This comes along with Personal Avatars, which let users create AI-generated versions of themselves for videos without appearing on camera.
The new features are available to Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra subscribers and eligible Google Workspace business users.
The AI can also edit existing videos through text prompts. Users can ask it to change backgrounds, improve lighting, add visual effects or make other edits without manually using editing tools. Google said Gemini Omni supports step by step editing. This allows users to refine videos without generating a new version each time.
Google has also introduced Personal Avatars, which allows users to create a digital version of themselves using a selfie and short voice recording. Once the Avatar is ready, users only need to type a script, and the AI avatar will present the message without requiring a live recording.
According to google, each avatar is linked to the owner’s Google Account and can only represent that user’s identity. The feature is currently available only to users aged 18 years and above.
In order to improve transparency, Google will add an invisible SynthID digital watermark to all AI -generated videos created using these tools. The watermark helps identify content generated with AI. With these additions, Google Vids moves beyond workplace presentations and becomes a more comprehensive AI video creation platform.
