Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 28: More than 1.03 crore beneficiaries are receiving the 5th installment of Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana today on Friday. The State Government is set to transfer around Rs 5,160 crore through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
The installment was released at a state level programme in Lathipada, Nayagarh. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Minister Pravati Parida attended the event.
According to Parida, 1,03,26,162 beneficiaries received this financial assistance. Notably, this included 2,21,054 women who received the payment for the first time.
The government said that officials and banks have been directed to ensure that the DBT process is completed smoothly and that beneficiaries do not face difficulties during the disbursement.
The Subhadra scheme is a flagship women’s welfare programme of the Odisha government. It aims at supporting women’s financial empowerment and self-reliance.
