Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 27: San Francisco-headquartered American artificial intelligence (AI) public benefit corporation has reportedly announced that its official ChatGPT would start displaying free advertisements for the Indian users in view of the upcoming festive season.
Media reports reports have stated that, “OpenAI has planned to turn India into a testing ground for its advertising model following which brands would be provided with a new route to reach ChatGPT users while promising safeguards around privacy, relvance and user esperience. OpenAI had on February 9 this year announced its pilot plan for advertisements within ChatGPT and had undergone testing advertisements in the United States of America (USA).”
Media reports have added that, “While British multinational company ‘WPP’ and world’s leading marketing and sales company ‘Omnicom’ are OpenAI’s first advertising partners in India, they have been permitted to submit their respective advertisements on the platform at a starting price of Rs 725 per day.”
Media reports have also claimed that, “OpenAI will be the first among top generative AI platforms to officially roll out full-scale advertisements in India.”
Media reports have also stated that, “The ads will be clearly labelled and visually separated from ChatGPT’s answers. Free and Go cost Rs 399 per month in India, while Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education users will remain ad-free.”
Quoting OpenAI’s chief executive officer (CEO) Sam Altman’s statement of February 15 this year, media reports have further stated that, “OpenAI has over 100 million monthly active users in India.”
