Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 16: Tech retail giant Amazon has launched two new smart gadgets under the ‘wearable AI’ category. The devices, named Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse, listen to everyday conversations, meetings, and phone calls. They then automatically transform spoken words into clear summaries, to-do lists, and calendar reminders. Thereby, saving users from taking manual notes all the time.
Notably, the Bee Frontier is a compact device that can be clipped to your clothes. It can also be worn around your wrist. Priced at $74.99, it is available in three colour options. Further, it features two built-in microphones to block background noise and stays powered for up to seven days on single battery use.
Meanwhile, the Bee Eclipse is priced at $99.99 and is designed like a flat credit card. It attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone and can run for more than three weeks without needing a recharge.
Both the gadgets can be synced with digital tools like Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, and Gmail. They can also connect with Amazon’s online store to recommend relevant products based on items mentioned during past conversations.
To address privacy concerns around continuous audio recording, Amazon has also included key safety measures. The devices feature a physical power switch and bright LED lights that illuminate whenever active recording takes place.
Amazon also confirmed that audio recordings are erased immediately after processing into text transcripts, which are protected by encrypted keys on the device. An optional monthly subscriptions call the ‘Bee Pro’ is also available for $11.99, offering computer software access and advanced task recommendations.
