Industry Odisha Bureau, April 28: Amidst the ongoing tug of war with arch rival USA, the Islamic Republic of Iran has reportedly geared up for implementing a new navigation law soon christened as “Strait of Hormuz Security Plan”.
Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee member Alaeddin Boroujerdi informed Russian news agency TASS that “the new legislation has been prepared after thorough reviews of wide range of legal angles along with international laws”.
Boroujerdi also informed TASS : “The new legislation has been scheduled to be passed in the upcoming session of Iranian Parliament called Majlis/Islamic Consultative Assembly”.
Elaborating on the new law “Strait Of Hormuz Security Plan” to be implemented, Boroujerdi further informed TASS that the Islamic Republic of Iran has planned to launch “a new fee and payment system for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz”.
He added: “The Central Bank of Iran has already opened accounts for several national currencies like Riyal (official currency of Saudi Arabia), Yuan (China’a official legal tender), Euro (official currency of European Union), and US Dollar, while payments in future will be mandated in Iranian Rials through a digital currency system.”
