Bhubaneswar, March 20: Retired bureaucrat and HDFC Bank’s part-time chairman-cum-independent director Atanu Chakraborty has tendered his resignation with immediate effect on March 18.
In his resignation letter, Chakraborty has cited his “ethical concerns” against the allegedly “happenings and practices” within the leading corporate bank.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of Governance, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee of the HDFC Bank, the retired bureaucrat has reportedly mentioned, “Certain happenings and practices within the bank that I have observed over the last two years, are not in congruence with my personal values and ethics. This is the basis of my aforementioned decision.”
His resignation letter reiterates, “I confirm that there are no other material reasons for my resignation other than those stated above.”
Need to be mentioned that, Atanu Chakraborty is a retired IAS officer of 1985-batch and from the Gujarat cadre. While he is reportedly a degree holder in Electronics & Communication Engineering from NIT, Kurukshetra (Haryana), he further completed his MBA from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom.
