Industry Odisha Bureau, Sep 23: The Indian Embassy at Kuala Lumpur has issued a notification for Indian nationals arriving in the country under 30-day visa free facility. The High Commission of India at Malaysia has alerted that the visitors are misled by unscrupulous agents promising jobs, stays, illegal status, detention and legal action.
As per the current 30-day visa-free facility of the Malaysia government, Indian nationals can visit the island country for tourism, social visits or short-term business. The travellers can stay up to 30 days through December 31, 2026.
This facility has been used by fraudulent agents deceiving the Indian travellers. This is a clear violation of immigation rules. This is so as the visa-free entry facility permits Indian passport holders to stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days. These include tourist visas, social visits etc.
The Indian embassy advised that genuine tourists should carry valid and verifiable documentation. A return ticket, hotel bookings, online submission of Malaysia Digital Arrivals Card (MDAC). The MDAC should be submitted 3 days before the arrival date, and a passport with minimum 6-month validity, to avoid any immigration- related issues on arrival in Malaysia.
