Industry Odisha Bureau, Sept 05: Xiaomi is set to launch its new foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, in China on September 7. The company confirmed the launch date at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The passport style foldable is expected to compete in the premium segment. Leaked details suggest it could be priced below Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 18 Fold could be priced at more than CNY 10,000 (about Rs 1.4 lakh). This would make it more expensive than the previous Mix Fold 4, which starts at CNY 8,999. Xiaomi is also expected to offer a special colour variant, with a red version already showcased at IFA.
The foldable is expected to feature a 5.38-inch cover display. Notably, it expands into a 7.58-inch screen when opened. Xiaomi has described its folded form as roughly passport sized, aiming to make the device easier to carry and use with one hand.

The phone will feature a horizontal rear camera module with three cameras and an LED flash. Leica has also partnered with Xiaomi for the camera system. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Fold will reportedly use Xiaomi’s Xring O3 processor and could be among the first phones with LPDDR6 RAM.
Other leaked specifications include a 6,000 mAh battery, 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and a possible 200-megapixel primary camera. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed these details. The Xiaomi 18 Fold will be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi N70 Pro, N70 Max, N90 Max and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max on September 7.
