Industry Odisha Bureau, Sep 18: Odisha is steadily building the foundation to become Eastern India’s Silicon Valley with an 870-acre dedicated land bank at Naraj in Cuttack, integrated infrastructure and strong multimodal connectivity, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday.
“Odisha is steadily building the foundation to become Eastern India’s Silicon Valley. With an 870-acre dedicated land bank at Naraj, Cuttack, integrated infrastructure and strong multimodal connectivity, we are creating a future-ready ecosystem for semiconductor manufacturing and innovation,” the CM wrote on X.
The Chief Minister today inaugurated the Odisha Pavilion at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, in the presence of Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The pavilion brings Odisha’s semiconductor proposition to the forefront, showcasing key projects, policy incentives, infrastructure and investment opportunities across semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, chip design and electronics.
During the visit, Majhi participated in SEMICON India 2026, a key platform bringing together global semiconductor leaders, investors and technology partners.
The Chief Minister engaged with industry experts, investors and technology leaders, highlighting Odisha’s capabilities, policy support and emerging opportunities in the semiconductor and electronics sector.
With projects spanning semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging and emerging technologies, Odisha is steadily building a strong foundation for the next generation of electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, he added.
With a focus on investment, innovation and skilled employment, Odisha is creating the ecosystem needed to become an integral part of India’s semiconductor growth story, Majhi said.
Semiconductors are shaping the industries of tomorrow, and Odisha is preparing for that future today. With major investments in Silicon Carbide, advanced packaging and power electronics, the State is creating a strong foundation for high-tech manufacturing and quality employment, he further said on X.
On the sideline of the event, Majhi discussed the way forward for strengthening Odisha’s semiconductor ecosystem with Union Minister Vaishnaw, focusing on investment, technology, innovation and skill development.

Speaking to media persons here, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain informed that five semiconductor projects are under implementation in the State with a total investment of Rs 10,899 crore.
The five semiconductor projects approved by Odisha would generate more than 4,500 direct jobs and over 16,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The projects cover Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductors, advanced packaging, glass-substrate packaging, memory-module assembly and power electronics, with applications in electric vehicles, railways, defence and energy.
Officials said SiCSem Pvt Ltd was setting up India’s first integrated SiC semiconductor fabrication and packaging facility, while Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solutions (HIPS/3DGS) was establishing an advanced glass-substrate packaging facility aimed at emerging applications such as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
