Bhubaneswar, March 22: While the ongoing turbulent tug-of-war between US-Israel and Iran has entered its 23rd day since February 28 this year and the strategic chokepoint-Strait of Hormuz-still forcibly closed by Iran stranding scores of oil-laden vessels at sea resulting in a gargantuan global energy crisis, a visibly peeved US President Donald Trump on Saturday (March 21) issued a stern warning against bête noire Iran to reopen Hormuz within 48 hours, or else face the more ferocious music of devastating strikes on all Iranian power plants.
In a strongly worded statement on his official post on Truth Social, the enraged American President has warned Iran further failure of bowing down to his 48-hour ultimatum would definitely result in catastrophic strikes by the USA defence forces on all Iranian power plants.
Trump also ruled out the possibility of any negotiations or parleys with his arch rival Iran.He also came down heavily on the criticism and caustic comments reportedly made by a section of media which he has pooh-poohed through the Truth Social outpourings of his froth and fume.
Trump’s Truth Social posts are quoted hereunder: “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. In another post, he claimed, “The United States has blown Iran off of the map…Their leadership is gone, their navy and air force are dead, they have absolutely no defense, and they want to make a deal. I don’t! We are weeks ahead of schedule.”
