Industry Odisha Bureau, Sep 02: Gopalpur Industrial Park has attracted a massive investment pipeline. The figure now stands above ₹65,400 crore. Investments span green energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) developed the park. It sits in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The SEZ spans nearly 2,970 acres of land.
Green Ammonia Project Boosts SEZ’s Clean Energy Push
A major green ammonia project was recently announced. The Odisha government, Japan’s IHI Corporation, and ACME Group signed the deal. TSSEZL is also a key partner.
The plant will produce 0.4 million tonnes annually. It will include a jetty-less floating terminal. Officials expect the project to create 3,400 jobs.
Solar Manufacturing Adds to Gopalpur’s Green Energy Portfolio
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited signed a separate land deal. The agreement covers a ₹10,000 crore solar manufacturing unit. It will produce solar ingots and wafers at Gopalpur.
The SEZ already hosts multiple green energy firms. These include Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, and Hygenco. Saatvik Solar Industries and World Green Energy also operate here.
Other sectors thriving at the park include speciality chemicals. Tyre manufacturing and mineral processing are also present. SRF and ATC Tires run units at Gopalpur.
Strategic Location Strengthens Gopalpur SEZ’s Appeal
Gopalpur’s east coast location offers strong connectivity. Port, rail, and highway links support easy logistics. The SEZ status offers customs and tax benefits too.
TSSEZL Managing Director Manikanta Naik highlighted the momentum. He said Gopalpur is becoming a globally competitive destination. Government support is accelerating this transformation, he added.
The park recently won recognition for its efforts. It received the Smart Industrial Park award. Maritime Gateway presented this at a Bhubaneswar summit.
Growing investor confidence signals strong days ahead. Gopalpur SEZ is positioning Odisha as a green industrial leader. More green energy projects are expected to follow.
