Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 10: Xiaomi has confirmed plans to launch the all new Xiaomi 18 Pro in India in the coming months. Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India Gautam Batra announced the handset’s India-bound launch. He announced it during Snapdragon Day at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026.
The smartphone is among the upcoming devices expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. This will be alongside the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch flat 1.5K LTPO AMOLED primary display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Its rear panel houses a 2.7 inch secondary LTPO AMOLED screen with the same refresh rate and peak brightness. The smaller display supports notifications, widgets, selfies using the rear cameras and customized graphics.
The phone also introduced Xiaomi’s Super Pixel Display 2.0, a hardware level privacy feature designed to restrict viewing angles and prevent people nearby from seeing on-screen content.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, built on a 2nm architecture, with CPU speeds reaching 5.01GHz. It offers 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. A redesigned ring-shaped cold pump system manages heat during demanding tasks.
For photography, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features Leica backed options. These include a 200 MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawise camera and a 50MP front camera.
The device packs a 7000 mAh silicon carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Ultra Wideband, USB 3.2 Gen 1, stereo speakers, IP68 protection and a dedicated AI button. IT runs Android 17 with HyperOS 4.
Xiaomi, however, is yet to announce the phone’s launch date or pricing in India. Estimates suggest that the new model could be priced above Rs 1 lakh, given that the Xiaomi 17 launch price was Rs 89,999.
