Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 1: Reliance Jio has announced a limited period anniversary offer on its JioBharat 4G feature phone. As a part of the offer, the price of the phone has come down to Rs 299. This comes as a part of Jio’s 10-year anniversary celebrations. It aims at encouraging users with 2G phones to upgrade to 4G.
However, customers will have to pay Rs 1,499 upfront to purchase an eligible JioBharat phone. The effective price of Rs 299 comes from recharge benefits worth around Rs 1,200 that Jio is offering with the device for six months.
Under the offer, customers receive 14GB of data every month along with unlimited HD voice calls for six months. Jio says many 2G users spend around Rs 199 per month on mobile recharges. This works out to nearly Rs 1,200 over six months.
The JioBharat range includes models such as the JioBharat A1, B1, B2 and B3. These 4G feature phones are designed for users who want a keypad phone while also having access to digital and entertainment services.
The devices notably come with a 2.4 inch display and a 2,000 mAh battery. This comes along with support for Jio’s 4G network and HD voice calling. Users can access more than 500 TV channels through Jio TV, while JioHotstar offers live sports, films, and other content.
The phones also support digital payments through JioPay. This includes payment alerts and Sound Box functionality. Jio safety Shield provides features such as safe calling and location monitoring.
The anniversary offer is available for a limited period during the festive season.
