Industry Odisha Bureau, April 14: In the wake of a futile fallout of the 21-hour-long marathon ‘Islamabad Talks’ mediated by Pakistan between warring United States of America (USA) and Iran on Saturday (April 11) last week , US Vice President J.D. Vance (who had led his country’s high-profile delegation) in his sharp reactions said that the onus now lies on bête noire Iran whether to do or die.
In his interview given to Fox News, the US Vice President remarked, “The ball is very much in their (Iran’s) court and the Iranians are going to determine what happens next,”
Vance also claimed that the Iranian delegation lacked the authority to strike a final deal during negotiations in Islamabad.
Elucidating on this claim, the US Vice President said, “What we figured out is that they were unable, I think, the team that was there was unable to cut a deal. They had to go back to Tehran, either from the Supreme Leader or somebody else, and actually get approval for the terms that we had set”.
On the ultimatum of Hormuz blockade issued by US President Donald Trump soon after Islamabad Talks fell flat, the US Vice President reacted, “We’ve stopped bombing the country. What we expect the Iranians to give up is a full reopening of the Straits of Hormuz”.
Vance in his media reactions too burst, “If the Iranians try to engage in economic terrorism against the entire world by blocking the Strait of Hormuz, we’re applying economic pressure on them through our blockade imposed on their oil coming out of the Strait of Hormuz”.
He added that the US naval forces are now closely monitoring the Iran-linked vessels operating in the Persian Gulf.
