Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 26: In a bid to reset itself for achieving more sales growth from electric vehicles (EVs), premium bikes as well as augment its global exports, Delhi-headquartered Indian multinational motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp Limited has reportedly appointed five senior executives from the non-two-wheeler backgrounds.
Citing the company’s sources, media reports have stated that, “While Pawan Munjal had stepped down from the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2023 to be the Executive Chairman, Harshavardhan Chitale is the incumbent CEO, Srihari Mulgund is the new Strategy Officer, Sachin Agarwal is the new Technology Officer, Kausalya Nandakumar is the new Chief Business Officer, and Latika Taneja is the new Head of Corporate Affairs. Chitale, Mulgund, Agarwal, Nandkumar and Taneja are all from the non-two-wheeler backgrounds.”
Citing comments of corporate experts as well as data available, media reports have stated that, “The new CEO would apply his non-automotive experience to lead the company’s growth prioroties, while the other new senior executives would collaborate with the new CEO targeting the firm’s expansion and further achievements in the sales growth of EVs, premium bikes, and global exports. Even though Hero MotoCorp’s EV sales jumped 196% in the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26), its overall annual exports grew 39% in comparison to its arch rivals Bajaj and TVS due to their respective able team leaders in sync with the need of the hour.”
