Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 4: The Government of India has approved four Industrial projects for Odisha in different times during past few years. The total proposed investment in the aforementioned projects is estimated to be Rs 3832 Crore, and the total number of employment likely to be generated is 50,940.
This was informed by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada in Parliament.
The Centre has approved Angul Aluminium Park under Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS) of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The total investment of the project estimated to be Rs 500 crore. A total of 223 acres of land has been allocated for the project. Civil constructions including the approach road and common facility buildings are completed. The work on 33kV is in progress. So far, Rs 110.11 crore has been utilized. One unit has been opretionalised. The project expected to create employment for 12,000 individuals.
Similarly, the Centre has approved EMC Park, Bhubaneswar, under the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. A total of 203.7 acres of land has been allotted for the project, whose total investment would be Rs 2332 crore, the minister said.
All components completed except Telecom & IT Infrastructure. So far, Rs 128.49 crore has been spent in the project. The park would create employment for 4,270 persons.
A Plastic Park at Paradeep has been sanctioned by the Centre under Plastic Park scheme of Department of Chemicals & Petro-chemicals. The project cost of Rs 500 crore and so far, Rs 136.16 crore including land cost has ben utilized in the project, which is expected to create employment for 14,170 persons. Physical Progress: All project components completed and three units have made operational.
A Sea Food Park at Deras was also sanctioned by the Union Government under the Mega Food Park Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The total investment on the project will be Rs 500 crore, of which, Rs 156.92 crore has been spent. Physical Progress: All project components completed. It will provide employment for 20,500 individuals. A total of 152.78 Acres of land has been allotted for the project and four units have started operation at the Park.
