Industry Odisha Bureau, April 27: As part of its ongoing crackdown on drug-trafficking, the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) on Sunday (April 26) launched an intensive military strike on a boat in the Eastern Pacific Ocean that killed three alleged drug-traffickers, while the SOUTHCOM personnel were reported to be unharmed.
Sharing both the information of the operation and video footage on its official social media platform X, SOUTHCOM mentioned, “On April 26, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”
As per US media reports, two alleged drug-traffickers were also killed earlier on Saturday (April 25) in SOUTHCOM’s ongoing anti-narco-trafficking operations, thus, summing up such death toll till date to 185 since September 2025.
