Induystry Odisha Bureau, Jun 19: With an aim to digitally connect remote areas, the Odisha government has asked Collectors of 23 districts to provide land for establishment of mobile 4G towers at 707 locations across the State.
IT and Electronics, Additional Chief Secretary Vishal Dev has written a letter to the Collectors in this regard.
He asked the collectors of Angul, Bolangir, Baleswar, Baragarh, Bhadrak, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts to issue of NOC (no objection certificate) for acquisition of government land at 707 new sites (2000 Sq. Ft. each) for installation of 4G mobile towers under DBN-funded 4G Saturation Projects in Odisha
He shared the list of 707 newly identified sites for installation of mobile towers under the extended 4G Saturation Project funded by Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY).
“In order to facilitate the early installation and commissioning of 4G mobile towers at these identified locations, it is requested that No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for advance possession of approximately 2000 sa. ft of Government land at each site may be issued in favour of BSL to enabie commencement of the tower installation works,” Dev told the Collectors.
It is also pertinent to mention that, owing to the proactive efforts of certain districts. NOCs have already been issued for 294 sites, thereby expediting the implementation process in those locations, he pointed out.
Considering the importance of timely completion of the project and its significance in enhancing digital connectivity in underserved and remote areas of the State, he requested the Collectors to issue necessary instructions to the concerned field-level officer to make available the requisite land for construction of the mobile towers and facilitate early completion of the project.
