Industry Odisha Bureau, May 5: Soon after American professional basketball team ‘Orlando Magic’ got eliminated from the NBA playoffs on Sunday (May3), its coach Jamahl Mosley was reportedly dismissed with immediate effect.
Magic’s team president Jeff Weltman announced the dismissal of head coach Mosley the moment they were back in Florida in the wake of the team’s loss at the NBA playoffs in Detriot.
Reportedly lauding Mosley’s “leadership and positive contributions as head coach” as well as expressing gratitude to him, Weltman also said sadly, “While this was a difficult decision, we feel it’s time for a new voice and fresh perspective”.
Need to be mentioned here that, 40-year-old Jamahl Mosley was reportedly hired as head coach by the Orlando Magic basketball team in July 2021, and he reportedly enjoyed long stint with this team marked with five seasons.
Notwithstanding that, Orlando Magic basketball team has reportedly “not won a playoff series since 2010”.
It was Mosley’s predecessor Stan Van Gundy, head coach of Magic, who had reportedly “guided the American professional basketball team to the NBA Finals in 2009 even though they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers then”.
About the latest NBA Playoffs fallout, media reports said, “The top-seeded Pistons rallied from a 3-1 deficit in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference first round series to eliminate Orlando with a 116-94 triumph in game seven on Sunday”.
