Industry Odisha Bureau, Jun 6: Adding further a fabulous feather to his glorious cap as well as earning laurels for his motherland, 20-year-old grandmaster (GM) R. Praggnanandhaa (Pragg) on Friday beat ace German chess player Vincent Keymer to bag the coveted title of Norway Chess-2026.
Reportedly, Pragg not only “topped the leaderboard with 18 points and registered a convincing win in the final round, but also carved a niche being the first Indian to emerge champion in the prestigious tournament.”
Prior to winning the title on Friday , Pragg had reportedly shot better than his compatriot-cum-world champion D Gukesh on Thursday.”
