Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his warm greetings to the nation on the occasion of Independence Day.
The Prime Minister observed that their dreams continue to inspire us, urging citizens to adopt their ideals as we collectively work to realize the resolution of a Viksit Bharat.
This year marks the 13th consecutive year of Modi as the Prime Minister. Highlighting, the key initiatives aimed at achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047 he addressed the nation for 76 minutes. He stressed that India must focus on seven key sectors, like manufacturing, food processing, technology, innovation and digital technologies.
1. AI training to 1 crore youth
Technology and innovation are the foundation stone of India’s growth aspirations. Leadership in Emerging technologies and AI skill training for one crore youth over the period of one year. Quantum computing, space technology, robotics and data centres are advancing fields where India can lead.
2. Free online coaching for competitive exams
PM announced free online coaching for students ultimately reducing the financial burden for the poor and the middle class. In the world of cut throat competition education should not be limited to the privileged. Govt will strengthen the digital public infrastructure, educators and technological resources.
3. Defence manufacturing
In order to make India a defence manufacturing hub, PM laid emphasis on hypersonic systems, drone and counter-drone platforms. Moreover the external and internal security challenges need to be addressed. He highlighted the importance of Sudarshan Chakra- the indigenous air defence system.
4. Sports opportunities for 5-15 years age
With a vision of hosting Olympics 2036 PM Modi announced talent hunt programme for the sporting field. He said a campaign would be launched for 5 to 15 years’ students .
5. Semiconductor push with focus on fabrication plantws
He said five to eight semiconductor manufacturing plants will be established in accordance with Vikshit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat. This will build an enormous semiconductor ecosystem.
6. Nuclear energy target of 100GW by 2047
The Prime Minister said the government had set a target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047 as part of its long-term energy strategy. Subsequently, the SHANTI Act has been passed by the Parliament. Thus five new nuclear reactors will be started.
