Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 18: The Odisha government is all set to disburse fifth instalment of Rs 5,000 to more than one crore beneficiaries under Subhadra scheme on this Raksha Bandhan.
Speaking to media persons, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida here said, “We will release the financial assistance under Subhadra scheme in Nayagarh on Raksha Bandhan.”
The eligible new applicants will receive all five instalments in one-time on August 28, she informed.
‘Subhadra’ scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday in Bhubaneswar on September 17, 2024.
The scheme is designed to provide eligible women aged 21 to 60 years with Rs 50,000 over five years, from 2024-25 to 2028-29.
Each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each — one on International Women’s Day (March 8) and the other on Raksha Bandhan.
The Odisha government has already transferred over Rs 20,648 crore to more than 1 crore women beneficiaries of Subhadra Yojana in four instalments.
According to officials, a total of 1.15 crore applications have been registered under the Subhadra Yojana so far. Of these, over 3 lakh new applications were received during the financial year 2026-27.
