Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 2: Marking one of the strongest monthly performances this fiscal year (FY27), India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections reportedly rose 15.4% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2.11 trillion in July in the current year (2026).
Media reports, citing data released by the Finance Ministry (FM) on July 31, stated that, “Net GST collections rose 15.8% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1.81 trillion after adjusting for refunds. Total refunds issued during the month increased 13.1% to Rs 29,968 crore, while net domestic GST revenue grew 10.5% to Rs 1.27 trillion. Net GST revenue from imports climbed 30.3% to Rs 54,223 crore.”
Media reports, citing data released by the Finance Ministry (FM) on July 31, also stated that, “Domestic GST collections increased 10.1% to Rs 1.44 trillion in July, while GST revenue from imports surged 28.8% to Rs 66,511 crore.”
Media reports, citing data released by the Finance Ministry (FM) on July 31, further stated that, “While Haryana recorded the fastest growth in GST collections, among other Indian states, with revenue rising 25% year-on-year to Rs 11,892 crore in July, Gujarat followed with a 19% increase to Rs 12,923 crore, and Telangana also posted a 19% rise to Rs 5,819 crore. Similarly, Punjab and Kerala registered 16% growth each, while Uttar Pradesh reported a 15% increase to Rs 9,651 crore, Maharashtra, being the country’s largest GST-contributing state, saw collections rise 13% to Rs 32,210 crore, Karnataka recorded a 12% increase to Rs 13,854 crore, and Delhi’s GST collections grew 8% to Rs 6,460 crore.”
The other Indian states having reported weaker GST collections are reportedly stated to be, “Himachal Pradesh – 22%, Uttarakhand – 18%, Puducherry – 17%, Madhya Pradesh – 10%, Mizoram – 7%, Andhra Pradesh – 5%, and Tamil Nadu – 1%.”
