Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 29: The Odisha Government on Thursday approved 22 industrial investment proposals worth over Rs 3,855 crore, which would generate employment opportunities for 7,765 persons. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) headed by Chief Secretary Anu Garg has approved the industrial project proposals during its meeting held here. The approved projects span 11 sectors: Tourism, Biofuel, Manufacturing, Aerospace and Defence, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Infrastructure, Plastics, Pharmaceuticals, Global Competency Centres, Steel (downstream), and Paper (Packaging). ICG’s Regional Headquarters (North East) has placed its air and surface assets on high alert to execute critical Search and Rescue (SAR) alongside Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions, the officials said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) shared the details in a special bulletin on Thursday. The system moved almost northwards at 18 kmph over the last six hours. Industry odisha Bureau, Oct 29: Cyclone Arnab has forced East Coast Railway (ECoR) to divert several trains. Services on the Howrah–Chennai route have been hit as floodwaters rise in Ganjam district. The cyclone brought nearly 550 mm of rain to the region. This pushed the Bahuda River into spate. Water at Baghalati Dam on the river has breached the danger mark. Round 4 applications will be accepted until December 31, the Ministry of Textiles said. The biggest change is a sharply lower entry bar for mid-sized manufacturers. It could bring more mid-sized firms into India’s flagship manufacturing incentive programme. Under Part 2 of the scheme, minimum turnover has been halved. It falls from ₹200 crore to ₹100 crore.
