Industry Odisha Bureau, Jul 30: Since India’s economy reportedly grew 7.8% in the January-March period of outgone fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26) despite disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict, the Ministry of Finance (FM)’s July 2026 Economic Review reportedly claimed that resilient domestic demand has also underpinned India’s growth outlook.
Media reports, quoting the FM’s July 2026 Economic Review, stated that, “India’s economy sustained its growth momentum during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) despite heightened global uncertainty.”
“Domestic reforms, prudent macroeconomic management, swift policy responses and consistent on-ground implementation will remain critical as external conditions evolve”, reportedly averred the monthly economic review of the Ministry of Finanace.
Citing the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s July World Economic Outlook Update, the FM’s July 2026 Economic Review also reportedly noted that, “Global growth is projected to moderate from 3.2% in 2025 to 3.0% in 2026 before recovering to 3.4% in 2027.”
Commenting on current state of affairs of the Indian agricultural scenario, the FM’s July 2026 Economic Review reportedly stated that, “Agricultural security remains underpinned by strong food grain buffer stocks from paddy and wheat procurement even though the ongoing Kharif sowing has moderated because of an initial monsoon deficit, and also a projected transition to El Nino impact presents downside risks.”
Media reports, quoting the Finance Mniistry’s statement, stated that, “Strategic food stock management, lower commercial LPG and aviation turbine fuel prices, and the withdrawal of temporary retail fuel sales restrictions, have been deployed to mitigate supply-side and inflationary risks.”
The FM’s July 2026 Economic Review also reportedly found out that, “India’s trade performance remained resilient with total exports rising 9.5% year-on-year (YoY) in June 2026, while comfortable foreign exchange reserves continue to provide a strong buffer against external shocks.”
