Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 01: The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has partnered with the Energy Department. The alliance for 2026-27 is set to drive the state’s wider sustainability roadmap.
The initiative is led by Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and E&IT. Under his guidance, Odisha is moving well beyond conventional power generation. The goal is a robust and diversified clean energy ecosystem.
The state aims to reach 11 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Investments of over ₹2 lakh crore in green infrastructure will back this target.
The roadmap fast-tracks utility-scale solar, wind power, battery storage and pumped storage projects. A single-window clearance system run by the Energy Department has eased regulatory hurdles. This has drawn strong interest from both public and private sector players.
Odisha is also working closely with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). State entities GRIDCO and OHPC are playing a key role as well. Together, they are laying the groundwork for green hydrogen and green ammonia. These efforts position Odisha as a leading clean energy powerhouse in eastern India.
