Industry Odisha Bureau, Oct 1: MG Motor is set to become the title sponsor of the Indian Super League (ISL) under a reported two year agreement worth more than Rs 25 crore. The final paperwork is reportedly in its closing stages and would be completed soon.
The partnership would bring a title sponsor back to the ISL after Hero MotoCorp ended its long standing association with the competition following the 2022-23 season. If the deal is finalised, the league could be branded the MG Indian Super League, while the MG logo is also expected to feature on the competition’s crest.
The agreement is also reportedly set to include a car for ISL’s best player at the end of each season. The award is expected to be worth around Rs 25 lakh.
The reported sponsorship comes ahead of the 2026-27 ISL season, which is scheduled to begin on October 10. Bengaluru FC will host Sporting Club Delhi in the opening match. This will be followed by FC Goa’s clash against Chennaiyin FC at Fatorda later the same day.
The deal also comes after Parth Jindal recently became chairman of JSW MG Motor India. Jindal is also the founder of JSW Sports, which owns and operates Bengaluru FC. However, there is no confirmed information linking his personal involvement to the reported sponsorship agreement.
The upcoming ISL season will mark the league’s first campaign under a more club-led structure. Participating teams will take greater responsibility for commercial and operational matters.
The reported MG Motor partnership could therefore mark a significant new phase for the league’s commercial strategy.
