Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 29: Chief Secretary Anu Garg directed for expedite of large-scale industrial investment infrastructure projects in Odisha and resolution of various issues faced in the implementation of the projects here at the Lok Seva Bhawan Friday.
The Chief Secretary reviewed progress of major projects like brownfield expansion of smelter and captive power plant and Utkal ‘D’ and ‘E’ coal mines of NALCO.
The progress of land acquisition and transfer, rehabilitation and resettlement, public hearing, village council and development of ancillary infrastructure related to the project was discussed.
It also reviewed the various ongoing and proposed investment projects of Adani Group in Odisha. Investment opportunities and project plans were presented in various sectors like ports and port expansion, industrial parks, power, aluminum, cement, coal gasification, data centers, mining, logistics.
In particular, the needs and possibilities for expansion of Dhamra and Gopalpur ports, industrial parks, economic corridors and ancillary infrastructure development were discussed.
Gar emphasized on land requirement, acquisition, road and rail connectivity, coastal control area related processes and other necessary cooperation.
The meeting focused on further strengthening the enabling environment for large-scale investment in the state and providing necessary government support to investors to expedite the implementation of projects.
Chief Secretary Garg stated that the timely implementation of large-scale industrial projects is important for the industrial development of the state, increase in investment, employment generation and economic growth.
She emphasized on the need for close coordination between the concerned departments, NALCO, Adani Group and the district administration for early resolution of the issues related to the projects and taking timely and effective steps.
The meeting was attended by the District Collectors of the concerned districts of Angul, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, Cuttack and Bhadrak via virtual mode.

Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Department, Arvind Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department and Chairperson, Idco Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Electronics and IT Department, Vishal Deb, Secretaries of various departments related to Finance, Power, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Commerce and Transport, Water Resources etc. and senior officials of Idco, Odisha Mining Corporation, EPCO, TPCODL etc. were present.
The meeting was attended by Chairman and Managing Director, National Aluminium Company (NALCO), President, Corporate Affairs, Adani Group, and discussed the progress of various related projects, future investment plans and government support required for smooth implementation of the projects.
