Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 24: In a bid to enhance its existing electric vehicle (EV) charger capacity for e-buses and e-trucks, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited (GOLIL) is reportedly planning to invest Rs 50 crore. The investment in its new plant at Ahmedabad-based EV charger manufacturing plant could produce 3,000 DC fast chargers instead of its currently produced 1,800 ones.
As per media reports, “GOLIL has made this plan of expansion owing to the growing demand for e-buses and e-trucks in the Indian market these days, while the strategic expansion is going to be executed through the Tirex Transmission Pvt Ltd. It is a company in which the GOLIL has increased its stake to 65.18%.”
Media reports have also stated that, “GOLIL aims to position itself as well as reap the benefits from the Government of India (GoI)-backed procurement schemes that are driving the adoption of e-buses and e-trucks along with electrification of commercial vehicles.”
Media reports also added that, “Since GOLIL has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 120.84 crore as of June 30, 2026, i.e. a 26.96% increase, this financial strength has propped it up as well as enabled to invest into the expansion of EV infrastructure.”
