The decision reflects concerns about the earlier physical boarding-pass procedure at immigration counters. Reports indicated that improper or incorrect stamping of physical boarding passes caused significant inconvenience consistently. Electronic boarding passes can now be presented at immigration counters as an alternative document. International flyers who possess e-boarding passes will no longer require separate physical boarding passes specifically. However, passengers who prefer carrying physical boarding passes may still present them at immigration. Immigration officers will not stamp physical boarding passes under the new procedure from September 1.
