Industry Odisha Bureau, Jun 8: In the wake of Iran’s latest missile launch against Israel yesterday amid the fragile ceasefire initiated unilaterally by US President Donald Trump in April this year, Trump reportedly spoke to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over telephone immediately and restrained him from retaliating which could further escalate the conflict, while simultaneously urged trusted ally Israel and bête noire Iran to return to the negotiating table.
Reportedly, Trump posted a loud and clear message to both sides saying: “You’ve fired your missiles. That’s enough. Get back to the table.”
While directly speaking to Netanyahu, Trump reportedly convinced him that, “the latest Iranian strikes caused limited damage. It would be wise for Israel to avoid military action since it could escalate further the conflict, and could also prolong a cycle of conflicts. It’s high time both Iran and Israel should pursue diplomacy instead of demonstrating further their already demonstrated military might.”
In this context, Trump reportedly told media: “”Israel had its strike, and Iran had its strike. We don’t need another one.”
It is also being reported that, “Trump himself is on a direct diplomacy with both Israel and Iran in a bid to preserve the ongoing negotiating process.”
