Media reports said, the increase in the premium subscription fee was allegedly“rolled out quietly in the USA via emails to subscribers on April 10. There was no public announcement or press release from YouTube, Google or their parent company Alphabet”.
Reports added that the new charges would be “effective from May 16”.
While the “individual subscription will rise to $15.99 a month from $13.99, family subscriptions, where up to six accounts are possible, will rise to $26.99 per month from $22.99.
