Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 5: As part of its continued efforts to deepen industrial partnerships and attract high-value investments, the Odisha Government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will undertake a two-day investment outreach programme in New Delhi from August 7.
The high-level State delegation will also include Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and other senior officers of the State Government.
The outreach will engage leading industrial houses, MSMEs, downstream enterprises and business associations across sectors central to Odisha’s next phase of industrial growth, officials said here on Wednesday.
A major highlight of the outreach will be Odisha Food Pro 2026, being organised on August 7 by the State government in association with ASSOCHAM.
The sector-focused roadshow will bring together leading food processing companies, investors, MSMEs, industry associations and sectoral experts to showcase Odisha’s diverse agricultural and marine resource base, processing ecosystem, logistics connectivity, policy framework and investment opportunities across the farm-to-market value chain, the officials said.
The programme will feature industry experience sharing, release of a Knowledge Report on the scope of the food processing sector in Odisha, sharing of investment MoUs and direct interactions between the State leadership and prospective investors, they said.
It will seek to attract investments across processing, packaging, cold chain and other value-added activities while creating wider market opportunities for Odisha’s agricultural, marine and food products.
The larger objective is to connect local enterprises and producers with national and global value chains and position Odisha as a preferred food processing destination.
Beyond food processing, the New Delhi outreach will focus on developing deeper industrial value chains around Odisha’s major anchor investments.
On August 7, the State leadership will hold one-on-one interactions with industry leaders and focused group meetings with major industrial groups and their ecosystem partners. Discussions will cover opportunities in stainless-steel downstream manufacturing, chemicals and petrochemicals, while also reviewing the progress of existing and proposed investments in Odisha.
Particular emphasis will be placed on identifying implementable projects, strengthening local supplier networks and accelerating the grounding of announced investments, the officials informed.
On the second day, the delegation will also visit a manufacturing facility in Greater Noida to gain insights into advanced manufacturing practices and explore potential areas of industrial collaboration in white goods and consumer appliances.
The delegation will thereafter participate in three focused industry roundtables in Greater Noida. The first will bring together leading aluminium downstream companies, to explore opportunities for greater value addition in aluminium products, components and engineering applications.
The second roundtable will engage textile and apparel companies, showcasing opportunities arising from Odisha’s expanding textiles, apparel and technical-textiles ecosystem, supported by a growing skilled workforce, industrial infrastructure and policy support.
The third roundtable, organised with the Indian Industries Association, will engage engineering manufacturers and MSMEs to explore opportunities arising from Odisha’s large metals, mining, power and manufacturing base.
Discussions will cover industrial components, fabrication, capital goods, clean-energy equipment and opportunities for building stronger local vendor and supplier networks.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Hemant Sharma, said “Odisha’s next phase of industrialisation will be driven by deeper value addition around the strengths we have already established. Food processing offers an important opportunity to connect our agricultural and marine resource base with modern manufacturing and larger markets.”
In metals, petrochemicals, textiles and engineering, our focus is on building strong supplier ecosystems around major anchor investments. The main objective through this outreach is clear secure credible investment proposals, accelerate existing commitments and convert discussions into projects on the ground, Sharma said.
The New Delhi investment outreach is expected to strengthen industry-government partnerships, generate new investment proposals and accelerate existing commitments, he added.
Greater value addition in food processing will also expand market opportunities for farmers, fishermen, FPOs, women-led enterprises and rural entrepreneurs while supporting employment and higher incomes across the value chain.
The initiative forms part of the State’s broader journey towards Samruddha Odisha and Viksit Odisha 2036, while contributing to the national vision of Purvodaya and a Vikshit Odisha for a Viksit Bharat.
Through deeper value addition, competitive manufacturing and stronger industry partnerships, Odisha seeks to emerge as a major industrial and food processing hub on India’s eastern coast.
