Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 1: With an aim and objective to benefit over 1.1 crore central government employees and pensioners, the ‘8th Central Pay Commission’, chaired by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, has reportedly accelerated its stakeholder consultations across India, and has also, meanwhile, completed nine months out of the authorised tenure of 18 months since its formal constitution in November 2025 by the Government of India (GoI).
Media reports, citing the updates from the Commission’s official website, have stated that, “Ahead of the final recommendations on the fitment factor, salaries, pension reforms and allowances to the central government employees and pensioners, the stakeholder consultations are intensifying with employee associations, pensioners and government organisations across India. It is expected to submit its final recommendations in May-June 2027.”
Citing the updates from the Commission’s official website, media reports stated that, “Amid its ongoing stakeholder consultations programme, the Commission on July 24, 2026, announced a consultation meeting in Puducherry scheduled for September 9, 2026 so that feedback and recommendations from the stakeholders of the Union Territory (UT) could be gathered. Besides, the stakeholder consultations have also been slated for New Delhi (August 7 and 10, 2026), for Chennai (September 7-8, 2026), for Chandigarh (September 16-18, 2026) meant for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh UT, while other regions in India will have separate schedules”.
For the latest updates and official notices, the Commission has reportedly asked to visit “the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC)’s website at 8cpc.gov.in”.
