Industry Odisha Bureau, May 8: Central-Government run Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) taking a significant step towards digital transformation and employee capacity building has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur to provide specialised training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Keshav Rao, Director (Human Resources), MCL and Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, signed the MoU, in presence of Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of MCL.
Under this collaboration, IIM Sambalpur will train 500 officers of MCL from diverse disciplines on AI and ML applications tailored to the coal and energy sector.
The specially designed and customised curriculum aims to equip MCL executives with advanced knowledge and practical insights into AI and ML, enabling them to address complex challenges, optimise processes and drive innovation across the organisation.
On this occasion, CMD Kaole highlighted the growing importance of advanced technologies in enhancing organisational efficiency.
“Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are essential tools for improving decision-making, operational efficiency and productivity,” he stated.
He expressed his confidence that this partnership will have a transformative impact across MCL’s functional domains through the integration of AI-driven solutions.
