Industry Odisha Bureau, May 6: Despite having reportedly been adorned with the maiden crown of World Test Championship (WTC) in 2025 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, England after trouncing Australia by five wickets along with reportedly having scripted history by being victorious over India even at Indian cricket team’s home ground after two decades, South Africa cricket team’s remarkable right-arm spinner Simon Harmer has reportedly pointed finger at the alleged dominance of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the International Cricket Council (ICC).
In a reported tete-a-tete with leading British daily newspaper The Guardian, an aggrieved Harmer remarked, “The BCCI control the ICC. But what can we do? As a player, you just control the controllables. The only thing that changes the narrative is winning trophies.”
The South Africa cricket team’s frontline spinner also reportedly highlighted on “India’s dominance in world cricket by controlling the commercial and administrative aspects and standing tall as the games reigning king.”
Nevertheless, South Africa (SA) is in the third position after Australia (AUS) and Newzealand (NZ) so far the “ICC World Test Championship 2025-2027 Points Table & Team Standings” is concerned, while India (IND)’s position is sixth after Sri Lanka (SL) and Pakistan (PAK) respectively. On the other hand, South Africa (SA) is in the second position after Australia (AUS), while India (IND) is third so far the “ICC Men’s Team Rankings” is concerned.
