Industry Odisha Bureau, April 29: Bagging a big deal amounting $500 million reportedly from US-based Truist Financial Corp. last month (March), Indian IT giant Infosys Ltd is reportedly all set to set up an enormous Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad in near future.
In accordance with the deal struck, it would be reportedly “India’s second largest IT services firm with employment opportunities for at least 4,500 employees.”
The upcoming Infosys-built GCC in Hyderabad will reportedly be “under a built-operate-transfer (BOT) arrangement in which Infosys will run the facility for five years before transferring operations to the client.”
Reports added, the first year of the GCC’s operation would witness hiring of 2,000 employees including the senior management.
Besides, the upcoming Infosys-built GCC in Hyderabad would also reportedly “handle sales, human resources and finance apart from the prime IT jobs.”
As per Nasscom’s data, India has over 1,760 GCCs. Among them, prime IT-hub Bengaluru has 875, while Hyderabad has 355 GCCs.
It is expected that the number of GCCs would augment to 2,200 by March 2030.
