Industry Odisha Bureau, April 13: In the wake of the reportedly inefficacious ‘Islamabad Talks’ on Saturday (April 11) last week between US and Iran (who are at loggerheads since years as well as the ongoing tug of war in the Middle East since February 28 this year followed by the nagging Hormuz hurdle that has triggered energy crisis globally), Russian President Vladimir Putin has stepped in to mediate for peace and stability in the West Asian region.
Quoting Kremlin (the historic and fortified complex in the heart of Russia’s capital city Moscow serving as the official residence of the Russian President), media reports said that Russian President Vladimir Putin phoned his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday (April 12) in a bid to take stock of the outcome of the 21-hour-long marathon ‘Islamabad Talks’ held just the previous day (April 11).
Kremlin in its official bulletin informed, “Vladimir Putin emphasised his readiness to further facilitate the search for a political and diplomatic settlement to the conflict, and to mediate efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East”.
The whole world is now all agog to watch what sort of significant move is in the pipeline after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s voluntary efforts for the much-sought-after peace offer mediation since Russia (also being a super power) could play a pivotal role in assuaging the tense geopolitics despite its unabated locking horns with adjoining Ukraine since 2022.
