Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 28: The government has formally begun the search for Paradip Port Authority’s next chairman. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions issued the vacancy circular on August 25, 2026. The position stands at the Joint Secretary level within India’s maritime governance structure. Applications must be submitted digitally through the SUPREMO platform by September 24, 2026.
Shri P.L. Haranadh, an Indian Railway Traffic Service officer from 1994, currently leads the authority. He assumed the Paradip Port Authority chairmanship in October 2021 with extensive operational expertise. His background encompasses freight logistics, rail transportation, maritime affairs and port administration.
The government has established distinct eligibility criteria based on candidate experience and administrative backgrounds. Port applicants require two years as Deputy Chairperson in Category-I Port operations. Alternatively, candidates need three years combined service in Category-II Port or above. All candidates require at least two years of residual service remaining and maintain Very Good benchmark grades in Annual Performance Assessment Reports.
Officers empanelled under the Central Staffing Scheme receive placement in Pay Matrix Level 14. Port officers and Kamarajar Port Limited employees follow the Industrial Dearness Allowance compensation pattern. This differentiated structure reflects the government’s framework for selecting senior port leadership positions.
All applications require electronic submission through the SUPREMO platform managed by the Department. Physical communications cannot be accepted for any application or recommendation submissions. Candidates must submit applications along with full cadre and vigilance clearances documentation. Necessary ministerial or competent authority approvals must accompany all recommendation submissions.
