Industry Odisha Bureau, Aug 27: The sons of former Indian cricket stars Virendra Sehwag and Rahul Dravid have been named in India’s Under 19 squad for the upcoming home series against Australia U19. Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid have both been selected in the 15-member One-Day squad.
Aaryavir, the son of former India opener Virendra Sehwag, has been picked as a batter. Meanwhile Anvay, the son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, has been included as a wicketkeeper-batter.
Aaryavir earned attention with 297 of 309 balls for Delhi U19 against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy. He also scored 496 runs in the 2025 edition of the tournament.
Anvay, meanwhile, has already represented India U19. He scored 87 off 67 balls against Sri Lanka U19 in July. Therein, he helped India recover from 81/4 through a 145-run partnership with Arjun Rajput. He had earlier scored 220 runs in six innings in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
Lakshya Raichandani will captain the One-Day team , with Yashbardhan Chauhan as vice-captain. Interestingly, Aaryavir and Anvay have not been included in the multi day squad.
Notably, India will play three One-Day matches against Australia U19 in Rajkot on September 18, 21, and 23. The two multi-day matches will follow from September 27-30 in Rajkot and October 5-8 in Ahmedabad.
